I am curious, I have not heard anyone say they had to reload Legacy lately. I am just curious is it still happening? And what was the symptom that caused you to reload?

She got run'd over by a damned old train

I haven't had to reload the base in some time. I think I have to reload the cab2 - the forward/backward softkeys to select the letters to enter a name stopped working. I'll wait until the promised upgrade module arrives, however.

I have never had to either, but I haven't been using it as much as others have. It seems to have died down as an issue

I had to reload one time some months ago. Most recently my base couldn't find the handheld, so I powered down the base and removed the batteries from the handheld. When I powered up the base and reinserted the batteries everything was restored and working. I was not looking forward to re-entering all my engines. I have been using channel#9 since the first failure.

After the first reload which was not done correctly by following the flash of base lights I did have to reload a second time. Marty supplied a detailed list of how to instructions he may have gotten on this board? Anyway it worked and Legacy has worked flawlessly since. Information is the key to keeping things working well with Legacy and I am sure DCS upgrading. Legacy seems to be stable and I do not keep a finger on the power button anymore when starting up the Layout...

Chris,

I have 17 Legacy engines on the layout now, and they and the older Cab-1 engines have been getting a lot of run time lately using the Legacy system. I have never had to reload the base.

However, I continue to have intermittent minor Legacy issues. For instance, this past week I set the base to Channel 6 to optimize for the external Hawking antenna, and four days later the base suddenly reverted to Channel 1 when turned on.

Well I lost comms today as I did a final clearance test on the trestles outer loop. No big deal as the train stayed the course at the set speed. Tried to re-scan the channels with no luck. Powered down the layout, pulled the power to the base and then re-powered. The remote found the base right off on Ch1 where it was. This is the first time for this occurrence.

Hopefully this won't occur when I try to fire the giant laser beam from the moon.

Marty have you tried the Hawkings antenna by any chance? Maybe you would not loose the signal? I have not seen the red light flash since I added the new antenna to the base. And Legacy and DCS has been working fine. 4 new MTH locos and 3 legacy since the last and final crash here...

I was standing right next to the base and still no luck. It started as a few flashes. Interestingly enough the base had been unplugged for about 3 weeks. May mean nothing.
