I need to know what voltage I must have going to my fast track. I have two 180-WattPowerHouse™ Power Supply’s that connect to a MTH 12-Port Terminal Block, and then to the track at least 10 different places. The Hobby Store has told me that when I get my UP GP7 Legacy I need to reduce the voltage to the track? How are you, or are you reducing the voltage to the track? Thanks for giving me this opportunity to be a part of OGR.

No. The powerhouse is putting out approx 18v. That is correct for running TMCC and Legacy engines. A lot of folks use the 180w connected to the track using a TMCC direct lock-on. This has a protection circuit built in. I'm not sure how they connect to Fast Track but I'm sure someone has done it so they should chime in.

Mike,

Marty is correct. 18V from the Powerhouse is the ideal command control voltage.

What voltage did your hobby-shop recommend?

17 Volts. He was looking in a book and could not find what he was going to show me? I am running the new Legacy controler and TMCC engines with no problems thanks to OGR Forum and the help I have been able to get all of you.

I do not like to cut the special plug off of a brick. I buy the y adapter set Lionel sells and split one to be used on two separate Lionel bricks. This way I have a female socket for each brick. Use the black and white wires to connect to the Lionel Fastrack 2 conductor wire that comes with a terminal section of fastrack.

Should you also want to run MTH DCS just connect Black and White wires from the split wye's to the inputs on the DCS TIU. Plug the bricks in and go! Than connect the wire from your fastrack section to the fixed outputs on the TIU. Now you can control with both command systems.
