Hello I have a new Legacy GP-7 I set up today and noticed the cab light works perfectly. So why am I posting? My first GP-7 has been flashing right along since I got it. I thought it was getting info data or something so I never mined it. Now with the new unit tied to it it is impossible not to notice the flashing cab light. Pressing the cab button does nothing. If I address the newer engine it goes on and off...

I had a problem with a Legacy cab light It would stay on. I called Tech support. I think you have to put the engine in program mode and hit AUX I then 2. I could be wrong but give them a call.

I will try to reset the engine that way. The GP-7 was my first cheaper priced Lionel Loco. And a Legacy engine for $370! I was thinking [railking] so they cut a few options out. LOL. I figured it was just a diode blinking on a circuit board and ignored the flash. I even noticed a green light in my Lionel crane that does this also. Then the second GP-7 loco came with a working cab light. Oh Well...

Legacy engines are about the same price as an Atlas engine. I have 2 I'm thinking about getting 2 more If I don't have to put the money in my gas tank.

Jim for $370 you get the best sounding engine in O scale. By far the best controllable locos made also. Legacy is way better than any remote system I have used so far. The engines have Working lights and markers that change colors on direction change. Super details like the walk plate flips down like the real engine so "you" could walk from engine to engine and a slew of other nice features. I was expecting over $500 as an MTH loco so I did not think there was a cab light in the loco. It goes out when the engine moves! LOL..
