When I push the 45 mph speed setting for my fef it goes too fast for what I think is a safe speed for o72 curves and certainly faster than 45 mph.
Any other of you have this with other legacy engines. One way I find to use it was to put a speed limit at speed step 112. In fact this speed step works well with my 3rd rail engines also in the tmcc mode. |

At first I was facinated with the speed settings. Now I think it is a waste of remote space. I would sooner have had a DCS type speed reader system. But I have tried the engines to see how they act using the steps. Of the 4 Legacy locos, 2 Gp-7's follow speeds fine. 1 Conrail U30c works fine. NYC Shark set works fine. I do not have any exotic Legacy engines so I have limited info...
