I presently have a 180 W Lionel brick powering a TPC 400 on my Lionel Legacy system.

Do I really need this TPC with the Legacy or is the Legacy good enough alone??

Your help is appreciated.

You would need the TPC to run conventional engines with the Legacy set.

The TPC also permits you to turn power ON and OFF (including emergency OFF).

Unfortunately, the TPC 400 provides very little circuit protection when using a 180 watt brick. The protection circuits in the brick operate around 10 amps, but the 20 amp circuit breaker in the TPC won't respond until more than twice that level.
