I have a Lionel Legacy Conrail U30C that needs to be re-loaded into my Legacy system. Unfortunately, I can not find the orginal plug-in module that came with the locomotive. Can I load the locomotive manually and still have all the Legacy features (I have all the parameters for the manual load and can enter name and loco number). Does the plug-in module contain something that a manual load can't do? Thanks

Jack,yes you can load it manually the module just saves time loading the engine.

The module activates the special keypad ICONS and features on some locos, so if you do not have the modules then some features may not available. I don't remember if the U30c has a strobe light or ditch lights; but if either feature is available on this loco then the ICONS to turn them ON or OFF may not show up for controlling them without the module.
