I have installed a ucs track with tmcc.is it ok to use track power,as i would with a conventionel set up or does it need to be wired diff.I do not plan on using any access.switches etc.i saw a diagram with wires 2 & 4 wired to the controller and 1 & 3 wired to posts b & d to a transformer (kw). What i am asking which is correct.also should the track be insulated in any way. thanks rich

Hi Rich.
I would use a lower voltage for the accessories. It will be less wear on the coils in the operating cars and the coil in the track (and your milk cans won't shoot across the layout). Find the wire on the track that's connected to the center rail. Cut that and connect it to a seperate fixed (14v +/-)or variable voltage on the same transformer or another transformer that's in phase with the U posts connected. No need to insulate the track. |
