How do I adjust the smoke output (L-M-H)in my SD-70ACe? The Manual makes a reference to the CAB-1 method, however I can't find anything about smoke output settings using my CAB-2?
Thanks,
Steve

Did you load the memory module for it? If so there should be 2 icons on the keypad that have a smoke stack with no smoke and one with smoke. They are where the 8 and 9 would be in Cab1 mode. Each push of the stack with smoke increases the level up to high. Each press of the stack without decreases the smoke to off.

Thanks Marty,
I haven't had a chance to load the memory module yet. I thought I would do something different - like actually reading the manual first. I still don't see anything in the manual that states anything about just pushing the stack icons to increase or decrease the smoke. I could only find the reference to CAB-1 with the #8 & #9 followed by L-M-H...
Thanks Again!
Steve

Steve, once you have loaded this engine with your memory module you should be able to adjust your smoke output like Marty has stated above. The manual makes reference to the CAB-1 but I did this procedure with my Lionel 844 using my CAB-2 and it works great. Lionel could probably do a little twiking on this manual when the refer to CAB-1 (and/or CAB-2).

Due to the current economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has temporarily been turned off.

And, as you change the smoke output, the Legacy handheld display will indicate smoke high, smoke medium and smoke low...pretty cool!

Just a little sidebar...this is the first Lionel engine where I've had to turn off the smoke unit! The Hickory flavor was taking over the basement! Very strong output.

Here's another hint. If you use any other key to startup other than the "startup" icon on the Cab2 the smoke unit will not start. If you use the startup icon it always starts.

Many thanks to Ken, Cerbyg and Marty for your help and the great information! I now have a much better idea of how to adjust the smoke on my new SD70ACe.
Best Regards,
Steve
