Hi
I am now back from a long trip and when I am away I don't check the boards much. While reading your opinions about Legacy control features I get a great feeling. It is very cool to read how so many are truly enjoying the hobby more with the Legacy control system. In this world, there are really not that many of us doing what we do and enjoying our great hobby. We are really a small and focused group. But we are so engaged! It is really cool to hear how Legacy has enhanced operator's experiences with their trains. Thank you from Lionel.

More features are on the way. You've heard them mentioned and even seen them in some advertisements. We are focusing on them now with our great team at the new Lionel. We sincerely hope you continue to be pleased with our products and the progress we have made since JC came onboard. It has not really been that long and we are turning around big time.

Every new Lionel product is the result of a focus on perfection. You can see it in the improvements we have made to our diesels! In our efforts to serve and provide for the hobby, we are striving for a strength at our core that has frankly been missing for quite a few years. Now it is back. We may occasionally miss the mark, but we are aware of it when we miss. It is something that means a lot to us at Lionel.

On behalf of everyone at Lionel, JC, Dr ZW, Big Mike, and all the others, enjoy your trains. You know who we are and what we have done. It has been 108 years. We enjoy serving you better.

Keep your eye on New Jersey. Something is going to happen there. History is going to repeat itself.

Could it be possible? - Lionel will make trains again in New Jersey. Made in USA on a Lionel box? That would be awesome. Long live Lionel. Woo Hoo!

NY,
This means a lot and it showed thru with the Legacy returns. Mike and team did a great job and exceeded my and many on the boards expectations. I am glad you are back with a great thread to kick things off!

NY,

If you are really looking at restore the factory in NJ, I'd love the opportunity to go in a document the building before the construction begins.

I shoot "Virtual Tours" (stills/360 degree pans) for real estate office here. I would enjoy spending a couple days getting the before pics then follow up with the after pics.

Just something to think about

Neil,

Lionel is making a heck of a lot more strides forward than backward lately, and it's wonderful to see, in my opinion! Congratulations on Lionel's recent technical achievements, and for bringing some very talented, dedicated people into the fold. There really does seem to be a palpable revitalization going on at Lionel. It's great to hear the Lion roar again!

Welcome back. Lionel has really shown its commitment to the hobby with the hiring of Jon Z and Mike R. The products are really nice and even though I have two heritage diesels as well as the CX version from MTH, I am taking a strong look at your offerings. The gap situation has been addressed so well and the engines are really nice I might spring for a couple more. Thank you for your involvement.

Mr Young,

Sorry to take this on a tangent and I know lionel can't please everyone and do everything but what about doing some 2 rail? Or at the least make it more conversion friendly with proper bolsters and kadee mounts. More than half to nearly all of my rolling stock are orange boxes converted. 3rdRail, Atlas, MTH, Weaver and a bunch of other folk do it. Lionel has even done it in the past with the original Hudson, the smihtsonian Hudson and even a PRR T1. Legacy won't care about 2 or 3 rails it'll just work.

I'm in NJ and so is the oldest model railroad club in the USA.

I agree, they do look excellent. Any plans for a fixed pilot option? And kadee mounts on freight cars? My new Refridge cars are low riders, Kadee mounts or at least holes and we're in business!

NY.
First of all I would like to say I have been impressed with the support given to Legacy from day one by you, Jon and Mike. Kudos to all concerned.

It is hard to please everybody and if you doubt that statement look at the Allan Miller thread, and I realize quite a few on this forum would prefer all scale sized engines for their operation however I would like to see some traditional sized Legacy equipped locomotives(steam and diesel) for those of us running layouts with 036 or less.

It would seem to me that Lionel's coming back to the Garden State. At least the headquarters will be there and hopefully Lionel trains can again PROUDLY say:
Made in the U.S. of America.

The attention to details and expediencey in regard to the recent Legacy hardware upgrade is astounding. Mike and anyone else in the Ohio project are amazing. I'm also really excited to hear about the Mon-Fri tech support. Customer service at Lionel is alive and very well Smile!

Good to hear from you again ny! Thanks for all you do!

Pitogo when you ask for two rail control you are [in a way] going against the very foundation Lionel was built on. Three rail ease of use for everyone that buys into the Lionel system. No special block or switch wiring is ever required to use Lionel track or accessories. Since the command system would work changing the locos and cars would be a massive undertaking. It would be interesting to see if it happens some day for sure...

NY, it's nice to see you back. Your team is doing a great job.

I really hope you guys consider Legacy hardware upgrades for older locomotives at some point.
