Ok asking again.Anyway have one yet. Any place have them in stock yet? Would buy one today.

And is the lionmaster big boy out yet and available? Might get one of those too.

And any insiders at lionel know if they are bringing out aba sets in UP and sante fe roadnames this year? Seems they brought out some weird names first and how hard could it be to make shells for these two popular ones? I may buy Tmcc sets if get too impatient or find them for a good price.

LIONELDUDE, the ship page @ lionel still shows ship date of June 08 which means it hasn't shipped yet from lionel to dealers. $oo

Yeah was sure it was July before.Guess it slipped also . I would settle for that UP gp7 for now. I am tempted to pick up some aba UP and sante fe sets with just tmcc for now and sell them off in a few years. I do have two tmcc engines currently that army missle loco and a berk tmcc steam engine. Not bad and they work fine with legacy but want an actual legacy loco.

Maybe I should not be picky on road names.

Yeah there were some other gp7 shipped and available in other roadnames.
I was really trying to go with UP gp7 and the UP lionmaster big boy. Then at some point get ABA UP legacy set and Sante fe ABA legacy set. That would likely be about max engines I would get at least until could build a much bigger layout.
I would likely sell off most of my current tmcc and non tmcc locos. I have sante fe A diesel from set non tmcc. I have up non tmcc UP berk from set. I have c and 0 berk tmcc which bought cheap separately just to get a tmcc engine.
I have army tmcc missle loco which will keep. Have bunch of army cars.

So guess just be patient and eventually that UP gp7 will come out and ditto on the UP lionmaster big boy. Also I would think lionel will offer legacy ABA sets of Sante fe and UP roadnames. But tmcc sets of them would do me maybe for awhile ,only thing is Tmcc ABA sets seem to always go around 800 bucks and legacy set don't think would be that much more money. Would pay another couple hundred or so more for Legacy ABA sets.

Checked it out and a week for the auction..no buy now price..am impatient type so was hoping just order one if the price was reasonable and be done with it. Think will get non powered one also at same time or bit later.
At least they seem to be shipping. Some places seem to not be taking more orders though saying they are oversold?

Forumites- Here is a quick video of the new Powered and Dummy UP GP-7 by Lionel.

Notice the great horn is best one yet. Also the really cool flashing red warning light and Mars lighting and directional red and green lighting that makes this sweet.

I just shot this quick to show you the neat lighting effects.

Notice the Lionel Heritage WP box car in the background, I got from Stu at York. Looks great with the Heritage engines.

MSRP......$399.00 Canadian.
If Justrains in Delware has them, I believe they were asking $335.00 US.
But you would still have to pay shipping and taxes.
Justrains does not offer free shipping to Canada.

Ok thanks Dave talked to Mike and ordered me one also. Looks like for some bizarre reason the non powered matching unit is discontinued so may have to some hunting to find one of those. I guess a person could get a second power unit for lash up they are not that expensive really and mabye thats what lionel figured most people will do just buy two powered units.

Just very happy to be getting my first Legacy engine so can give my legacy controller a proper workout.

LIONELDUDE
Just to let you know I got my Union Pacific GP7 today, and I think that you will be very delighted, I know that I am. The lights are different than the other GP7 Legacy’s that are available. I sent my Legacy controller back and used the TMCC system.

While no one railroad can completely duplicate another line, two or more may compete at particular points.

Sounds good glad yuu are happy with it. I did find some dummy gp7s but wondering if they have lights even or what mabye should just get a second powered one.Course be a long time till actually have to pull enough cars on my little layout to need two power units.

I really don't want to do things half-way so I will not get a DUMMY there are no lights (top front or back), sound or smoke just an expensive box car about $170.00. Maybe Lionel will make a kit to fix the dummies to be more realistic? Or they hope that we will buy two completely functional GP7’s, and lash them together.

Now, therefore, the Directors of the company are hereby ordered to see that precautions are taken to make travel on said railroad perfectly safe by using a screw with at least twenty-four inches diameter.

Well they discontinued the dummy supposedly maybe for same reasons. I also think now that would rather have two of them lashed together twice as much sound ,etc. And they are actually pretty reasonable in price. But think the lionmaster big boy is next on my to buy list.Heck maybe even preorder one of those.

I could be wrong but I think the mars light and a few LEDs are unique to the Union Pacific.

Would anyone know this for sure?

Leading Edge advised that the engine should be at the store in about one week.

LIONELDUDE,

If you are interested in a "Dummy" (I hate to say this), MTH is coming out with one. In the 2008,#2 they list a GP9: 20-2898-3 for a SLP of $199.95.

Nah gave it some more thought and now pretty much figure just get a second powered one and lash them up for fun. Double the pulling power, double the sound and you have the lights, two horns ,etc. And its only couple hundred bucks more than the dummies which is likely why as said think lionel discontinued them.
Not in rush some should hit used market next year bet for 300 bucks. And for now have one coming so good to go.
