hi just got my sd70ace today took it out of box put it on the track and it wus poping and cracking and some time no sound at all every thing esle seem to work fine i tryed to reset it but made no differance i have 18 volts on my track any body else have trouble with this my self think it is the sound bored any help would be apreaate bob

hi thanks for your help but i sent it back today and have anouther one coming just for future reference what dose that do when you press aux 1 then 3 it that a sound reset?

Press Aux1, Press 3----This is in TMCC Operations
“If the Legacy RailSounds sound system is shut down, engine sounds start up. If the Legacy RailSounds sound system is running, engine enters manual RPM mode and revs up RPM one level with each press.” Regards, Swafford |

Big Bob,
You might want to check out my thread "SD-70ACe Crackling Sound". We just might have similar problems. I get the crackling sounds even when I run it in Conventional mode (just on a transformer). This indicates (at least in my case) that the problem is not related to TMCC or Legacy - it's inherent in the engine itself. Steve |

thanks steve i sent mine back and thy sent me a new one the new one workes great sounds are great just think i had a bad sound speeker not sure did not open it bob
