Hi to all. I sent my legacy in for up grade. They said they had received it OK. I got it back today. The base had two parts that hold the handheld in place broken off. I reinstalled the batteries and connected the base to power and the layout. Let it charge up and press the CTC button and nothing happened. It did not turn on. All the lights in the base work but the hand held does not turn on. I checked the batteries in the hand held to make sure they where in there correctly. Still the hand held does not turn on. Am I missing something. I will call Lionel tomorrow but I thought I would ask you guys in case I am not doing something I should be. It seems to me that it must have had a rough ride from Lionel to break parts off the base so the hand held must have taken a hit too. Any suggestions?

Regardless of whether you get it to work or not contact Lionel CS immediately. I would suspect that something happened on the return. I'm not sure what parts hold the remote "in place" as mine just rests in the charger but if something is amiss let them deal with it.

Yes let them right away so they can file a damage report with UPS. I don't know if Lionel is insuring them or not or how they UPS account is set up.

I would expect that they self insure the units. The cost of insurance for all of them, versus their cost of replacing the damaged ones is probably in their favor. Good luck, hope it is quickly resolved!

I once hooked my new Lionel hobby shop up without reading the instructions and blew the boards. I called Lionel to pay for new ones. They sent me a brand new hobby show and did not charge a dime. Nice job Lionel.
