It's probably been posted before, and/or it's already written in the Legacy owner's manual, but you folks are the quickest route to an answer.

My Dad and I each have our own Legacy controlled layouts. I'm wondering if I can bring my remote to his house and control trains on his layout? Just address change involved to add second remote, or what? Or won't work at all?

CRC, All you have to do is get on the same channel that DAD is on. Then you can run trains and have fun!!! Be sure that your Cab 2 remote is fully charged and then then the fun can begin. Legacy is fantastic. Later, Leapin Larry

Great. That's what I needed to know. Actually my Legacy is not yet in hand, but on order. Legacy sound is amazing. Cab I works fine, but Cab II is a treat.

Just to expand a bit...

All information from your dad's layout is contained in his base. All the engine ID's, names and other layout info. If you bring over an engine to run the only thing you need to be sure of is it has a unique address than any on your dad's layout. Add it to his system using the modules.

When you take your remote back home it will read your base info and you'll be running as before. The is a great feature of Legacy. No cloning. Since the base is the brains so to speak all information is easily obtained by another Legacy remote.

The other cool thing is, if you and your dad have the same engine addressed, you can see what he is doing on your remote. It updates in real time.

CRC and Marty E, thanks for chiming in as I know that you know much more than I do concerning Legacy. Just a note, I am so happy about the lash up feature because Legacy makes it easy, and if you have the new AC6000CSX #608 and the new AC6000CSX #610 SUPER BASS, lashed up, you will not believe the sounds, it is so loud and real that you will vibrate your house.
