In the movie Canadian Bacon, an American TV newscaster warns of an imminent attack by Canada on the U.S.A.; and backs it up with the observation that Canada has "amassed" 90% of its citizens within 100 miles of the U.S. border.
Given that the distribution of the Canadian population is more or less as stated, what, if anything, does his comment have to do with railroads? |

Would they be comming to the U.S. by train? Maybe the Canadian Pacific will bring their Hudson #2816 back to Chicago! Hope the Canadians bring lots of their good beer with them too!

I believe both Canadian Pacific and Canadian National transcontinental lines are within the 100 mile "zone" and only a few lines (ie Hudsons Bay, Prince Rupert, etc) go north beyond 100 miles.
