My wife and I visited Petersburg, WVA, Monday, we have a four year old grand-daughter who had a birthday. Sometimes the South Branch Valley Railroad leaves some equipment near the road crossing there so we dropped by there just in case.
Have mercy! Turns out the Governor of West Virginia was to make an appearance there, and there, by the crossing, sat SBVR 6604, which was at one time a B&O passenger diesel, and two nice fluted stainless passenger cars, for a special run for the Gov.

This is the color scheme I grew up with on the old West End. No passenger geeps, but scads of F7's. I think I stared at that lovely machine for 15 minutes before I made a photo. Lousy day, no sun. But 6604 lit it up for me.
They take great care of her, looked to be in nice shape..great sound, too!
One of the crew allowed me to visit the cab. No good photo, I needed my wide angle. But that cab was as clean and neat as a pin! Any B&O fan would be very pleased to see what great condition she's in.
She's rigged for long end forward running, and in a lot of the old photos when they were in service, they ran two cab to cab.

I see the control stand is still set up for long hood forward operation. The loco must have ditch lights on both ends.
