A couple with CSX 2629 and some fall foliage:
http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=302131 The old depot is where my Mom and I would board to leave for one of her all day shopping trips to Cumberland. What a ride..A 4-6-2 K2, an rpo, and one passenger car! How about this for a neat little train. The caboose, "The Spirit of Grafton" is actually used for a backing platform when this train returns to the paper mill at Luke, MD. Gives safety first for backing thru Westernport. The paper mill has a large warehouse located a few miles away from the plant, requiring this train to travel through Westernport on the way to that location. This is all on the old main that used to go by the papermill on it's way to Elkins, WVA, and still exists to Bayard, WVA, and is used to haul coal to the power plant at Mt Storm. That coal haul meets the old main on the other side of the paper mill, where there was an interchange between the old B&O and the Western Maryland. Ed |
