A roof collasp aprox 300 feet from the east portal occured during maintenence work on the tunnel. the maintence crew was replacing roof timbers when it occured. No one was hurt in the collaspe. As a result the Salamander runs have been cancelled till tunnel is repaired. The tygart flyer and the dinner train will run to Tygart junction. The repair work should be completed by mid August. Why is the Salamander cancelled? It doesn't go near the tunnel.

the Salamander, apparently has been changed to a trip from elkins to spruce. It consists of two engines (one on each end ) and two or three shorter passenger cars. I am not shore if the motor car is still running from cheat bridge.
