Wow..haven't been getting out much..we had to do a little work on the house roof. What a week for that, the day we finished it..96 degrees. Glad that's done.
Managed to get out yesterday for some photos, got this one down at "Z" tower. That's at the Keyser, WVA CSX yard. The old interlocking tower, one of a few left with armstrong levers, will be torn down. The new switches are installed along with new electrical/manual switch machines. This is all supposed to be done by August 4, with the new signaling starting, and dispatching from Huntington, WVA beginning that day.
This is yesterday, just after the crossover on the new signal bridge was installed.
The first eastbound under the new bridge:

7813 snorts a little smoke starting her train, on it's way east to Cumberland.
They picked up a few cars from the paper mill off the eastbound main's storage spur.
You will note that the old B&O cpl is covered. They discovered when they raised the new bridge signal that the old cpl could not be clearly seen. Therefore it was disconnected and the new signal on the bridge was used.

Hi there, Smile

The Alaska Railroad has been busy putting in Passenger Mains and Gravel / Coal Main/Layover Tracks. They also put up this Signal Bridge.

Cool

Ed and Chris, great shots as usual. RK, love those passenger trains you shoot. Some day I got to get up there and see them first hand.
My office on the 21st going to Elko. This unit is less than a month old.

Believe it or not but we had tornado warnings going to Elko. This is the type of rain showers we encountered but no tornados or high winds for that matter.

I'm heading up that way (Deep Creek) on Sunday through the 3rd for vacation. I know sadly the Z Tower is supposed to close during the first week of August, so I'm hoping I can get down there to see it. I'm hoping one of my buddy's from Keyser (who also volunteer's at the scenic) will be able to meet with me and take me down there. Love to see it!

I finally got DSL installed this week. Since it takes so long to download pictures on dialup, I never got to see the pictures. I looks like I missed a lot of great pictures.
