Has anybody heard what the status is of the California Zephyrs since the Iowa floods? I have tried to watch the news on Trains magazine's emails but haven't seen anything about this. I also have checked Amtrak's website and din't find any mention of it either.
In the meantime I think I will use this as an excuse to head over to the BNSF mainlines at about their normally scheduled times and see if they are running. Art Chugman |

Just rode the Cal Zep July 9th, it went from Chicago to Ca, no issues. You can see the flooding on the trip. Service was stopped in June for a short time between chicago and Denver.
Steve MY wife yells OVERBOARD whenever i head to the train room! |

Steve thats good to hear. I was getting pretty good at hearing the distinctive sound of the Genesis horns versus the freights, but for some reason lately I haven't noticed them. My plans of heading trackside to see if they are running on a normal schedule got sidetracked for today but maybe tomorrow?
Thanks for the reply. Art Chugman |
