As of 6/28, the east side roadbed to Needles Eye Tunnel on Rollins Pass (Colorado) had a good amount of snow still on it, preventing access to it...

If I understand correctly, this waqs the D&SL right of way until construction of the Moffatt Tunnel, around 1930 . . . is that right?

awesome! I'm always amazed whenever I read about how trains and men used to struggle over that pass. It's just amazing. And these photos add something of the mystique. You could probably do a novel or a movie just on Rollins Pass. It is simply dramatic.
