There's one a few miles from where I live in Manassas battlefield site. The fills and cuts are still in place.

A "paper RR" is one that was never built, just graded, so it never was in usage. However, the one near me was used during the famous Manassas battles (the embankments made good shooting positions).

and have you found the name of the paper rr? are you aware of the B & O wanting to run to Roanoke, down thru the valley?
