Searched the net but couldn,t find any info on the "Grey Roof"
and what it repesents.Know about the NE Corridor but is there
any signifance for the Grey Roof.?

Not that I'm aware of. All I know is that NE Direct units painted in Phase IV had the grey roof and Phase IV intercity units like those on the Empire Builder etc. had a silver roof.

Not sure what the reasoning was behind that. Maybe it had to do with branding the NE corridor trains? I know some of the Amfleets that were specifically for NE routes also had NE Direct painted on those as well.
