How well planned out are the trips that amtrack puts on. Is it just point to point destination or is lodging etc included. We want to take a train trip out east but are not sure as to how inclusive they are.

Amtrak was pretty good in handling any arrangements. Might be best to work with a travel agent. They get a commission from the vendors, not from you. Ours would do everything or just the train or anything in between. We opted for them to do all except the hotels, which we scouted out on our own. It was worthwhile for us but next time we'll probably let the agent handle all the details.

Amtrak has package deals which may or may not be to your particular advantage.

IT would be nice if people in the know or in this case railfans would spell "AMTRAK" correctly. Roll Eyes
