These pictures were taken in a Virginia State Park south of Richmond. I went to see my grandson play baseball, and viola!

Having made several railfan trips to Northern Virginia during the late 70's and early 80's, I became very fond of the RF&P with its fast freights powered by a variety of tastefully painted EMD units. The right of way, rolling stock and motive power were impeccably maintained....now that's the way to run a railroad!

I believe these are in RF&P Park on Mountain Road in Glen Allen, VA. Glen Allen is in Henrico County and was a stop for RF&P passenger trains. RF&P Park is a county-owned public park and is very nice!

Eagle,
Send your email address to modela1931@demtree.com and I will send you the original files. I cannot get the images any larger on this site.

Bill,
You are correct. My grandson lives in Glen Allen.

Does the Buckingham Branch RR still have the restored RF&P GP passenger unit in operation? The RF&P restored one as the #101 in the 90's to the 1940s and 50's scheme it was then donated to the NRHS and leased to The Buckingham branch. I was wondering its whereabouts.
