Whenever I watch a video of 844 there is always a steady stream downward of steam on the firemans side of the engine at the front of the steamchest. Anyone know what this is coming from?

That is a "tell tail" steam exhaust from the Worthington SA Feedwater system. It is just another indicator for the Fireman, besides the Worthington steam gauge in the cab, that the Feedwater System is indeed operating.

Also I noticed a small amt of steam coming from inbetween the two smoke stacks, is that the air compressor exhaust.
By the way I am seeing this on the Marcom productions Blu ray HD video of 844 coming back from washington. Super great tape of the engine.
It is also available in widescreen standard def also.
