Hey, thats the trip I was hoping on chasing this year, provided I am permitted my vacation time from work, We are planning on chasing from Cheyenne,WY to somewhere around Gibbon Jct,NE

Do you know the route 3985 is taking to Minneapolis? I am thinking there is a chance it will go on the northwestern -omaha line through st. james. If so do you know the schedule of when and where it is. I will be visiting that area in aug and would love to see it.
Thanks for the quick reply Hot Water. I was hoping I might get a chance to meet you this week. I'm hoping to get down to the station on Friday and my family will be riding the trip on Sunday.
Just a little up-date to the "schedule" I posted above:
After the Democratic National Convention in Denver, 844 will depart north, back to Cheyenne (Aug. 27 or 28). 844 will then be cut off the consist, 3985 will be placed on the consist, and then head for North Platte, NE.
