Hi, I've got an O gauge Atlas Pratt bridge (single track), and I'm a little stuck regarding getting it attached to my piers. The piers are high density foam. I've got bridge shoes to go between the two. The bridge shoes are a cast metal(kind of soft). Do I simply use an adhesive to hold everything? If so, which type of adhesive? Thanks, Alan

Hi Alan.
See my post here on the 3-rail forum. Hope this helps. Matt Jackson A.I.M. Screen Name: MJ928s Angels Gate Hi-Railers, San Pedro, California http://www.aghrclub.org Moving Freight and Passengers from Point A to Point A for almost 1/8th of a century!

I'm a little concerned about supporting the bridge on styrofoam. The bridge effectively would transfer all, or proportional weight, to the (4) shoes. You may want to add more rigid support to the area where the shoes would set. It is kind of like a 105 pound lady on spike high heels being capable of punching holes in soft flooring.
A different application. My bridge simply lifts out. May be twelve pounds of engines here. |

Thanks for the pics Mike. I ordered the Shawmut & Pittsburg switcher, just like the one in your pic, from MTH. Can hardly wait to get it. I think I'll lay a metal plate over the top of the foam pier first. (How did you know I wear spiked heels?)
