OK - So I have the airbrush - Bostitch tank compressor - in-line oil & water filter. Before I begin - here are the questions.

1 - What should I set the output psi on the compressor? Pretty good guess that 80 psi is a little high.

2 - What ratio should I thin the paint out - 50/50 - 60/40 70/30 ??
Paint - thinner / Thinner - paint?

Thanks in Advance

30 psi is a good starting point. As to ratio for thinning paint it all depends on the type of paint you are using, the coverage desired, the tip you are using on the airbrush, etc. I thin Floquil at a 60-40 ratio and it works good for me.

Hi Paul; - Thanks

60 - Paint - 40 - Thinner ?

Follow up question - Do you use thinner or can you use distilled water as a thinner?

Depends on what paint you are using. It should be on the side of the bottle. Floquil 75 paint 25 thinner, no water.

I spray Poly-Scale Paint at 30 psi with 10% of distilled water per the bottle.

One question.. You have an oil filter right? For nailers, etc they have in-line oilers for pneumatic tools. That would be a mistake if you are painting.

The filter is a piece offered by MicroMark goes in-line between compressor and airbrush. Was told to use mostly for water buildup in the tank - but does hurt to clean out any oil.
