I've got a skating pond on the layout which is really an area painted white with fake snow around that edges. Had really great success with the new Scenic Express Reeds/Cattails package adding a stream to another area of the layout. Wondering if I could use this same resin/method for improving the ice skating pond. Does anyone have an ice skating pond that can offer some ideas? Wondering if I add some white paint to the mix to make it cloudy if that would work, or should I brush some thinned paint on the top after the resin drys

tks for the help, some pics would be great

Sometimes the ice is the color of the water, or dark green if you skate on Lake St. Clair in Michigan. You may also look at dusting the top surface with a white to simulate snow, and scrape shovel width areas across the white paint...the wobblier the better.

My father in law used some kind of resin product from michaels on his christmas tree layout for his skating ring and it looked awesome, I will get the info and post it. I was really impressed with the results. I think it has the word "pour " in the title.

Ok try this. Pour a thin layer of the pour on or any other water product after it dries scrape it with an exact and leave the dusty scrapings on the top, then pour another layer over what you just scraped. The result will be a cloudy lake type of ice ring.
