Hi, I am builing a station for a module that I have. It is Ringoes station from the Black River and Western Railroad www.brrht.org. I was just wondering if there is anyway to have realistic rail joiners on gargraves track. Does any scale/brass company make something that you might have to drill in like the real thing?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

This is a draw bar that I just made for Hot waters SP DAYLIGHT.It took me about an hour to make. The one he had was way to long. This is made of much heavier brass then what you would need.If some one on the forum cant dirrect you to where you can buy somthing that would work, you could always make them.Use a much lighter gauge piece of brass and just form it to your rails.BF

Not that I've seen. You're starting to tread into the scale/proto:48 side of the house with this one (not a bad thing.) About the closest Gargraves-compatible rail joiners would be the Atlas joiners (you trim out the webbing on the bottom of the Gargraves rail.)

If I recall correctly, Old Pullman sold rail joiners (fish plates) that you glue to the side of the rails. You might also want to check Right o' way (not to be confused with the Right-of-Way that sold locomotives) and Sierra Models. Both sell Proto:48 supplies and I believe fish plates were available.

My recollection is that rail joints were normally every 39 feet, barring patching to replace broken rails, etc.
