Hey guys
Awhile back I posted some pictures of my K-line Star Lite diner. There were some interest in it from several folks. Just thought I would let you know that there were two, mint in the box, on that auction site we don't mention. They are kind of hard to come by.

Cody what is the footprint size on that diner? I already have Irene's Diner which looks pretty good but doesn't have the sounds and smoke so I am thinking of switching it out but I need it to be the right size footprint.

Hi Paul !! I have the 20th. Century Limited one & I wanted to tell you it's about my favorite piece on my layout ! It really has a good smoke unit in it & has lots of lights & tables & people in it too !! Here's a picture of mine. That's also a real good price for that one Alex put up there as I've seen them for 100 dollars sometimes. I paid 69 for mine plus tax at a hobby shop.

Thanks, John

Let me ask you does the base with the parking lot just screw to the bottom so it could be taken off? Or is the brick foundation part of the parking lot too?

The parking area is just a flat piece with lines on one side & you can turn it over & therre's no lines on that side. Not attached to bricks, it is a seperate piece that just sits right in place !

Hope that was a good description !!
Thanks, John

Here's a picture without the parking lot !!

This has to be one of my favorite layout pictures I've seen to date. Absolutely fantastic shot.

Guys...

The starlite diner has a permanint base with more scenery, versus the models like the 20th centry diner which have a removable base.

Alex

Is it real, or is it K-line

Ray, that black and white shot is remarkable!

Alex is right, the starlight diner has a heavy one piece resin base.

Thanks for the information on the Starlight Diner having a 1 piece base. I will stick with the Irene's Diner I have and add an addition to the back for housing a smoke unit.

This is a great accessory. Unfortunately, the heating element in the smoke unit burned out two nights ago (voltage unknowingly set too high, I think), but the fan still works. Any ideas on how hard it would be to replace the element - if I can find one - or would I be better off with a new smoke unit? Thanks.

Jim smoke units are not really that hard to work on. Open it up and see if the elements are broken or if the wick is just burnt. If the wick is burnt either trim off the burnt area or replace the wick.

Nothing's broken inside, at least that I could see. However, the wick is badly burnt. I'll replace the wick and see what happens. Thank you very much.

Does K-line or any other manufaturer have a diner in the current product line avaiable? Would like to add one on the layout. I'll check the auction site mentioned also.

I located a K-line 20th Century Diner at a retail dealer in Massachusetts and picked it up today. The dealer has one more in stock at $69. Let me know here if you're interested and I'll provide the dealer information to you.
