Had a Berkshire Valley flatbed kit laying around for about 15 years.
So today I decided to put it together and paint it.

Now I would like to find an industrial equipment load for it.
An unloading scene of heavy machinery seems like a fun project.

any suggestions were to buy heavy machinery models?
any examples on your railroad?

PK4, that's a great image!

That truck is not made for heavy equipment. What it would be correct to haul is structural steel. Crates of fittings would be loaded at the front of the trailer and prefab columns and joists and perhaps sheet metal would also be loaded.

You could employ a crane or a high lift to unload. Or a forklift.

Something interesting that would be transported this way would be a giant water slide Wink

Thank you for the ideas. they are good ones Smile
I was thinking along the line of a drill press, engine lathe or some machine tools being delivered.
But I do not know of a source for these in O scale Confused

Sierra West sells the CHB brand of shop machinery.

Here: http://www.sierrawestscalemodels.com/oscale/oscale.html
Though I don't think they are available yet.

Also Western Scale Models. Do a search, I don't have the link, yet.

Man those machines are nice. But those are a little to old for me or I guess not the style I'm looking for. They use the overhead belt system. Has anyone seen ones with electric motors instead? I've been searching and can't find anything.

The trailer came out nice. What tractor are you going to use with it?

The tractor was just one that was already up on the layout. Think it was the same era.

Chooch makes machinery loads. They are sold as multi scale. Another source is www.modeltechstudios.com I picked up a drill press, band saw and I belive a lathe the other day at the O Scale convention. Already painted and ready for the layout.
