Has anyone purchased the laser cut wood deck kit that is compatible with the Plasticville trestle? The deck kit at $24.95 is twice the price of the bridge itself but the photos of the assembled bridge and deck kit are really cool.

This bridge is the right size for me and I'm interested in what you think of yours before I take the plunge.

Thx!

I know one can buy laser-cut wooden decking, much cheaper, that will work fine. Check the Sourcelist.
The coal tower "topper" is also nice, but can be fabricated cheaper.

If you're not into scratchbuilding, the bridge deck kit definitely improves the look of the bridge. If you like it--go for it.

Is the plastic material for the Plasticville bridge styrene?

Here is my Plasticville bridge that I built two years ago, before there was a deck kit. I used Plastruct styrene I girders, and other styrene to finish it off.

George's Five & Dime Express, thanks for your response regarding styrene. Planning to use Evergreen/Plastrut structural shapes to make the bridge deck as Tim did. Tim, bridge deck looks good and prototypical.

Thanks guys for your comments. Here is another pic showing the deck of bridge ties. The hardest part was gluing the ties to stick to the styrene girders. I ended up using JB WELD.

Thanks for the photos Tim. That's exactly what I picture mine to end up like when built. I ended up picking up a brand new Plasticville bridge on e**y for about $10 including shipping so I caught a deal. Now to get it built and find the right place for it.
