If you are interested in a cardstock project then I found several very nice house/buildings that are free. They claim to be 1:66 scale. I tried to enlarge them to 1:48 scale but then many pieces won't fit onto a 8.5x11 sheet.
I built the manor buy enlarging it 127% using photoshop and rearranging the pieces to fit my printer. 127% enlargement worked out real well and the large front door ended up at 2" tall. The final building would require about a 16"x16" plot by over 14" tall and landscaping could easily bring it to 20"x20". I suspect the orginal size may look OK if your other buildings are not exactly to scale. Look here - http://www.haunteddimensions.r...im.com/index301.html There are also a bunch of free (almost as nice) cardstock buildings that are a smaller scale (would definately need enlarging) that I'm thinking about trying that can be found here - http://www.illinoishistory.gov...truct_mainstreet.htm If you color the paper edges, use thick cardstock, and maybe add a few separately applied details, these models look surptisingly good to my (uncritical) eye. |
