I'm doing their silo and I believe someone else posted that it's a resin. It looks similar to PVC pipe for the silos but a cast for the building. I use 5 min. epoxy to assemble it and it works very well.

Snips of snails, and puppy-dogs' tails, and probably not sugar and spice, and everything nice, that's what Korber builbings are made from, Wink

Or was that:

Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting,
Lizard’s leg, and howlet’s wing,
that's what Korber builbings are made from, Wink

Too many hours in the lab today, Big Grin

SoCalStu.....I am in process of building the silo also. My castings are very rough...lot of time to trim, sand, file and do it all over again. I am also using 5 minute epoxy and mounting it on 3/16" masonite board. I widened the upper elongated structure which sits atop the silo itself. It was on about 1 1/4" and I went to 2 1/4" using plywood ends...now I have to make a special roof for it.

Gizzmo.......the building parts of the silo I have (walls) are resen of some sort....files and sands easily. Silo's are PVC and window frames and roof pieces are plastic.

Sounds like you got an old Korber Kit Gizzmo. I know they advertised that the newer ones had lost the smell as they changed the material.

I believe it's extruded polystyrene. Basically a resin.

Or it could be eye of newt......... Big Grin

And it will stink when you cut it. Smile

First I would like to thank everyone for your concern and let you know I'm ok. I don't want to air out what's going on here so forgive me if I'm vague.

Ever loose your temper ? I mean REALLY loose it? Well that's what's happened here. I allowed my temper to get the best of me and in a one furious swipe I removed everything I have ever posted here. I realize that many of you have kindly followed my posts with interest and I'm sorry for the removal . None of you scenery members had anything to do with it and I shouldn't have taken it out on you,but it seemed to be the thing to do at the time.
I'm taking a very big step back from the forum for awhile and try to regain my composure. Some of you know what's going on here and I ask that you keep it off the forum. It would probably be a waste of time and energy anyway.

As I have told some,
I know I'm a bit of a hot head and it gets in the way at times.I'm also a man of principals, but I've learned that they can be very expensive if not kept on a short leash . Sometimes I forget the world doesn't share my values and Its hard for me to convey my feelings with out the disagreement becoming heated. As my wife so willingly tells me," I have to choose my battles! "

So I'm choosing . I'm going to do the things that bring me enjoyment and try to avoid the things that bring out the worst in me. When I look back at what started all this, I feel ashamed and uneasy that I will be held in a poor light for acting this way over what appears on the outside as a rather small matter. Convictions are like that. Right is right even if it hurts you and wrong is wrong even if it helps you .And, as my favorite actor John Wayne once said " ...I don't do these things to others and I expect the same from them ." But like I said the world doesn't share my views Or at least they choose not to act on what they know to be wrong. Such is the way of things.

I intend to stay in touch, but for now, as my friends suggested, I'm trying to grow a thicker skin. While I do, I'm going to curb my posting here for awhile. I'll try to replace most of the photos I removed and hope things will get back to normal. I know this doesn't explain or help a whole lot but I really don't want to interfere with any of you enjoying this scenery community, so I've decided not to address the problem here. I hope you understand.

Gizzmo

Gizzmo, I have no idea what happened and respect your approach to it. It sounds like you know yourself better than most of us do and that is a big plus in my opinion. Your contributions to this forum have always been highly appreciated by me and I hope that this issue gets sorted out quickly and we can again enjoy seeing your high quality modeling skills.

Glad to see you stepping back and thinking about it. I understand your frustration, but sometimes, no matter how noble the cause, the battle is not worth the fight.

Gizzmo ~

I'm sorry to hear of your frustrations on this forum, but I agree with the others that you're handling the situation maturely.

I dumped all my posts once too, but no one noticed. Smile It took me several weeks to calm down, but found over time I get real enjoyment from my participation (esp. the scenery forum). Elsewhere I've learned not to step into controversy by remembering Hanlon's Razor: "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity."

Hope you're able to work this out soon in a way that still lets you enjoy the friends and common experiences here - in the meantime you'll be missed, and welcomed back at any opportunity.

Smile
