I used a color called Gold Rush on the lower level of this part of my layout. This image used a flash and auto white and appears correct to me.



The same colors with tungsten floodlights and the camera set for daylight white balance



Fluorescent lights and AutoWhite balance



I wish I would have used a method to study all the effects.

Rand,
In general,
Tungsten light with daylight white balance produces reddish orange effects.

Daylight and fluorescents with tungsten balance produces blues and greens.

Have you tried playing with the color saturation control on photo software? You can get some amazing effects without changing the original color tone.

You should color dye some ballast and apply it to the tracks, I bet it would add alot to the look. very interesting layout.

My post was meant to illustrate how lighting can be used to change a viewer's perspective. Stevin, I did some of that. Thank you for giving me an excuse to post more images Smile

Blue aquarium gravel on blue cellophane laid over the gold paint:



Very fine orange, yellow and red sand on iridescent cellophane. Blue sand under the crossovers:



Illuminated with red rope lights:

That last picture looks really cool, the bullet train fits in with the scenery perfect.
