TENTATIVE AGENDA:

1. LEGACY PROBLEM ITEMS

Discussion of the biggest garden variety Legacy issues (that is, exclusive of normal Legacy features or functions), excluding the base reload issue that a few people have had (see next agenda item), for example (but not limited to):

(1) Need for installation of ground planes, just as with TMCC;
(2) Need to always turn on the Legacy base first before turning on track power;
(3) On some layouts, keeping the Legacy base plugged into a different circuit from the TMCC command base;
(4) The occasionally need to reload a Legacy and/or TMCC engine because the system will, for whatever reason, drop an engine for no apparent reason.

2. BASE RELOAD DOCUMENTATION INSTRUCTIONS

A discussion of, and (possibly) a printed hand-out explaining, how to reload the base in case of a base failure.

We should strive not to let the meeting devolve into a gripe session on this subject. We all know it has happened, and that Lionel is working on it, so let's just give people instructions on what to do if it happens to them and move on. Endless discussion about it won't change anything.

3. LEGACY FEATURES & FUNCTIONS (“HOW TO”)

How to access and operate Legacy features in the manual, and how to trouble-shoot operator-error problems, such as making sure the Train Brake slider is pushed up.

Also, a discussion of the many nice features of Legacy embedded in the menus.

4. LIONEL TO ANSWER PRE-SUBMITTED QUESTIONS

I have a few questions already, and i need more, to submit to Jon Z. and Rich Moser at Lionel in order for Lionel to be able to bring answers.

PLEASE POST YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT LEGACY HERE SO WE CAN ACCUMULATE THEM & SEND OFF TO RICH & JON.

LEGACY DEMO

I will bring some track, a Powerhouse 180, TMCC Lock-on, and one or more of my personal Legacy engines (and modules) if Lionel can bring a Legacy system to demo. We'll see about setting up a small loop in the banquet room.
