I take my dog Lizzy into work with me, and sometimes her fluff ends up on the toys... Smile

I have larger res images (21 MP) available if anyone wants high res copies let me know.

oh dang 21 MP. Erik you must be a pro... I shoot prosumer E-3 but my latest fav is EP-1, makes it easy to travel around without the lead necklace. Nice photos, thanks for sharing.

Micheal: You are very kind, Your photos are fantastic! I had a friend who used to always tell me, your a professional when someone pays you for a service.. LOL Big Grin I don't know if that is true, I am no pro, I try hard to take good pictures that if possible tell a story or at the very least explain the subject clearly.

I shoot both systems, Canon and Nikon. I prefer the Nikkor glass at times but I like the ease of use with the Canon.. Roll Eyes Never can decide who like better, but watch Sony in the coming year or two buddy! It was easy when one had more or faster features but now its all a matter of personal choice or previous investment. I use a 1Ds MK III and D2Xs, D3X for most of my work, but I still use my little point and shoot EOS 5D. Bodies are like computers, they depreciate like a lead block in a pool.. LOL Lenses are always a good investment.

I like the depth of field with the Nikkor 105 mm fixed f2.8 Nano Crystal Coat at f32.. It's really good. If I get a minute I upload an image I shot at the 29th Narrow Gauge Convention that I really liked.

The Olympus system is good stuff! I like the lenses they offer. Very tempted to get a converter and give em' a whirl on a Canon body.

I still love medium format and want very bad to get a digital back for my 4x5. I need to win the lottery! Eek

Good glass is always important. I was into Canon but I made the switch to 4/3 and m4/3 the glass selection was decent and the size was good and the IQ was good. What is now cool about the m4/3 besides the size, due mirror-less operation, is the various mounts.

Only 844 Today should have the platforms under the rear tender class lights. From what I can tell all numbers have them. Sorry Ed

brasman,

That is sort of confusing. Please clarify: do ALL FEF-2 and FEF-3 tenders have the step under the rear marker lights?

It is an interesting system (4/3) for those who are not on track: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Thirds_system , I kind of abandoned the less than full frame (35mm) except for the D2Xs. All of my bodies are full frame at least since 2008 when I bought a 1Ds MK II. Granted I always bought glass for full frame since I have both Canon F1 and Nikon F5 bodies. Never cared for that DX APS-C and H stuff... Man that is an old topic, 35mm film. Eek

I am seriously thinking medium format these days, Bladd has me really excited with the new technology. The price needs to drop before most of us are going to dig into the 4x5 universe in digital. This weekend I am shooting 100 speed Velvia 4x5 in Chama on the triple header, wish you could join me! Smile

Erik or anyone,
Help! I am not getting most of your, Eriks, photos. I get nothing or a small box with a red X. This just started in the last few days.
Did I miss an update or what?

Could someone post pictures of the SUNSET UP FEF3 in two tone grays and pictures of the top of the tender around the oil/water hatches, please? I am wondering if the top of the tender was covered with wooden planks or metal sheets, around the water openings.

Thanks

To Flags--

Try putting the arrow/cursor on the red X and click on the RIGHT mouse button.

To Yves--

The top of the gray "in service" tender does NOT have any wood planking.

jw - Still didn't work. I'll have a friend who is a lot more computer savy than I take a look at the problem.

Erik, Thanks for posting the photos !! When you have to make a purchasing decision sight unseen this helps make the decision. After seeing your photos - ordered one from Justrains; it just came in and it is a great looking locomotive. I am not sophisticated enough to be disappointed in all of the nuances so I simply think it is a great looking item on the layout. Thanks again for taking the time to do and post the photos
