I am looking for a good alternative to the HO copular on my On30 trains. The under sized HO copular makes my 3-rail copular look even bigger, and when the springs fall out they don't hold very well. Any thoughts?

SGP, are you using the Bachmann ready to run cars or another brand? Give us a little more details so we can really screw you up. Just kidding.

I agree with Al--more details needed. There are several Kadee couplers that are suitable for On30 and which are easily exchanged for the Bachmann E-Z couplers. Personally, I have stuck with the Bachmann couplers and have been satisfied with them. However, I do need to buy some Kadees for my Accucraft switcher one of these days since it doesn't come with mounted couplers.

sorry about that, the couplers are the same ones all Bachman On30 trains come with. Thank you for the quick response.

S gauge.

The problem is not the HO coupler on your ON30. It's the over sized 3-rail coupler on your O gauge.

SGP, you really caught me on that one. I am sure some body makes a conversion kit.

Allan, I thought you would have that switcher wore out by now.

Guys,

Since the D&RGW used standard-gauge couplers on all of their rolling stock, I have been fiddling with using Kadee On3 couplers. They take a little adjusting but will couple with the Bachmann couplers nicely, as I convert my rolling stock. Otherwise, I suggest changing the Bachmann couplers over to Kadee #5's.

Thank you for the responses, I think I will look into On3 couplers as Jim suggested.

If I reject reality and substitute 3-Rail, how does Narrow Gauge come into all of this?
