Just a quick question. I wanted to get the new Swiss Croc in scale wheels for myself, but run it on my Dad's 3 rail layout sometimes.

Also, is there any way to get these engines to run on DCC? I currently use NCE for my 2 rail trains.

Yes, they do -- but you might want to check your Dad's layout to see if it has minimum curve radii greater than 54 inches [ or "0108" in Lionel-speak ], which is rather high for a 3 rail pike.

As far as DCC capability, only MTH knows [ we hope ] when the next generation of onboard circuitry that will support DCC -- and which MTH says is necessary in the European market -- will appear. It might be in the Krok -- or not.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did not realize the curve requirement was so high. I think my Dad has 096, so it might be able to squeeze by.

As SZ noted only MTH knows. Every York they say it is coming. York '07 (October) they said next October York. York '08 (October) they said one more year. York '09 (October) they say next summer. I'm still waiting. Unfortunately, by the time they git 'round to it I will probably have placed orders with other companies.

I don't understand what the hold up is. DCC compatibility will only make their models more desirable to purchase.
