It is with great sadness that I must report the passing of a good friend and master model railroader, Hank Brown of Cottage Grove, WI.
Hank was a terrific husband, father, professional driver and model railroad enthusiast who spent his short retirement running TrainGuyz, a firm that build museum quality railroads for many individuals in the Midwest. He was my first friend when I moved to Madison, WI and revitalized my interest in semi-scale model railroading. He recently drew up the plans for my railroad under construction--Dunkirk to Batavia--in my new warehouse space. He was a long time leader of the NMRA South Central Wisconsin Chapter and the anchor for the Mad City Modular O Scale Layout that could be seen at the Milwaukee and Madison annual railroad shows. He served with honor in the USN as a meteorologist. With failing eyesight due to cancer, he switched to G Scale and enjoyed that in his basement. But before that he had a world class O scale layout in his basement that gave immeasurable pleasure to many operators--both skilled and unskilled that were always welcomed there. His irrepressible wit and the courage, bravery and cheerfulness in his battle with cancer is one for the history books. He was simply a very good man and he will be missed by many. Yours in Sorrow, Rob Mozgawa Madison, WI |
