If using the telephone is out of the question, try this method instead:

Whoa be careful there Matt. I generally only go to the powers of the Ouija for life changing decisions. It's a little extreme for toy trains. Big Grin

NOT that I herd of at this time. I gues they didn't hear our cries for a U28/30/33/36 B boat. Such a shame since they already have the trucks, fuel tank, and pilots. All they need are the shells and the handrails. Lets all e-mail Joe H that we want a new Weaver Diesel and this should be a start! Big Grin Wink

Just an FYI,Atlas O has just announced a Trainman U23B diesel. IF weaver doesn't pick up their slack, they may ultimately get the short end of the stick.

and aas many of us know that the Trainman line is a bit more detailed than the Weaver line.

Just to stir the pot, BUT, as long as that stupid China Block drive is under it, I'm not buying!

Now, if they would get smart (that might be a good name for a TV series and movie) they would offer the SW drive instead of those "frisky" twin motors. Big Grin

WEll if atlas O did follow your request[as in the case of the Mp15's] it could not be a trainman as the price point would be in the master series.

Looking from an un-emotional viewpoint, perhaps not.

The current Trainman line has identical drives (and identical trucks!) to the Master line.

Logically, the pricepoint between a Master and Trainman horizontal drive would be as un-affected as it is for vertical.

One can dream!

Trainman is also engineered to operate on 031. The horizontal drive just makes 036.

Trainman is geared for the economical hobbyists in mind.

In some ways that makes no sense at all, as the old F-9s could operate on 24r (the Atlas/Roco) track. Not a whole lot of bells and whistles in there.

(O-31 is a 15.5r. O-36 is an 18r. Tight even by HO standards)

To my eye, the biggest difference between Trainman and Master is the amount of ( WARNING! RANT ALERT!!!) nearly useless electronic crap that is crammed in there!

One other point.
I don't feel any remorse in taking a razor saw, Scalecoat stripper, and the pin vise to a Weaver. On the other hand, after having at least $250 of my hard earned (and begged for, from the Better Half) dollars sent to China or Gawd knows where, I'm a little less that eager to hack, strip, drill, butcher, or otherwise molest an over priced "entry level" locomotive.

Here Here tsgtBob! I will stick to my very flexible Weavers which easily make it around a couple of my still in place 24 inch curves. No sound, no whistles, no bells--just turn on my old Throttlepack and let them run for hours! It never ceases to amaze me how much of this forum is about guys having trouble with pesky electronics when they should be running their trains. I rarely even use the whistles on my 3-rail layout!

I am going to take daveb to task just a little bit over his comment about the speed of a TrainMan. I bought and painted a BN loco (of course before they announced a factory paint (mine is better, of course)). I ran it for a while with an MRC Control Master 20. Yes, it runs like a scalded cheeta at full throttle. Now take that same engine an wire in an NCE DCC unit and it will CRAWL!!! As I don't have a lot of cash to throw around and have a switching layout and use the basic cheapo DCC unit and it works fine. I set it to start at 1 and you will need to set up stakes to see if it moved and it will. I like the TrainMan series.

Now take that high speed gearing out and replace it with 15:1 and it will crawl even better plus have more power. It's not that it won't work as built but that they could have done it better for the same price.
