If I recall correctly, Yves posted a detailed thread on his building of SP articulated cars, made from either American Standard or American Lightweight kits. try searching for it.

I want to replicate the wartime consist of around 17 cars. I can't use the tavern and parlor cars and I need something like 5 more chair cars and 3 more articulated chair cars. To just buy more and more sets from 3rd rail would get really expensive but I want everything to match. I can't buy cars seperatly from 3rd rail so I am open to suggestions?
Buy three sets or more and resell on Ebay what you do not need. Yves

Thanks, Bob D.

Thanks for the heads up on the auctions. Now, if I could just find some affordable 2-rail E8's or PA's. That would be sweet. One question, on the KTM Daylight steam engine there were several questions about how many generators were on the left side of the locomotive. What is the signifigance of them?
Thanks, Bob D.
