Not unless its a MTH HO engine with PS3.

FYI...
I was told (by someone at MTH) that PS3 for O scale would be out in '08. I don't know if that is true or not, but supposedly they are working on it. Then you would be able to run an MTH engine by DCC, but currently no. If you are asking if you can run DCS and DCC together on the same layout then I think the answer is yes the two systems can operate together, but I am no expert so I will leave that up to the DCS pros here... |

Actually, the answer to running DCS and DCC on the same track is NO. I have both systems and the DCS locomotive seems to "trap" the DCC signal and the DCC decoder does not respond unless I remove the DCS loco from the track.
The coming PS3 locos will not permit you to run both on the same track. You have to use one or the other, but not both at the same time. Joe G. OST Magazine |

I heard the same thing from MTH. The October catalog is tentatively planned to be their first catalog to have MTH engines with DCC compatibility. I say "tentatively" because nothing is written in stone-it could get pushed back again but I hope not.
Joe G is correct here but I want to mention you can have both systems on the same layout just not in the same electrical block. One time by accident I put a PS 2.0 (DCS) locomotive into a DCC block and fortunately it wasn't damaged but it did emit a high pitched screehing sound. 2 railer but respectful to 3 railers! Happy Railroading Everyone! Stilll waiting for 1:48 scaled autos.... Phil |
