3rd Rail has opened reservation for their late edition UP/DRGW and Clinchfield 4-6-6-4 Challenger. I would like to see the models with the elephant ears and two tone grays if possible. Any comments from Challenger enthusiasts?

I reviewed a Big Boy in OSN a few years back, and I forget the rating I gave it, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was ten out of ten. The thing was spectacular - very much like the 4-12-2, the NP Yellowstone, and the AC4. All Sunset has to do is come sort of close to the quality/price of those models, and this thing will be a winner. I am sure, if they do this, you will get your ears and grey paint. Who knows - maybe you will have a choice of yellow or silver stripes? 3977 is currently Grey with orange stripes, and she looks good!

And I see Sunset is still putting green class lights on the smokebox instead of white for eXtra.

I seriously doubt that that is the production photo. Note the huge cable going to the markers; they are no longer doing that.

I assumed it is a picture of their model they imported several years ago. Ed

If the challenger is up to FEF standards dome people will be unhappy. I'll be delighted and buy.
