Hi guys, What a great time to be modeling the B&O in O scale 2-rail. Lots of great stuff coming in!
From Sunset/GGD The class Q4b 2-8-2 is due in late November. The 2-rail version is sold out, but check with you favorite dealer. The class T3b 4-8-2 is coming in two versions in about 18 months. One with the rectangular tender and one with the long Vanderbilt tender. These engines have never been done in O scale. The 8 car 1949 Columbian train is coming in two sets. These will be aluminum cars. One set will have 4 coaches and the other set will have the combine, diner, dome and obs. Each set will list for $640.00. The wood caboose, class I-5, or maybe the I-5D, in brass will be here at the same time the T3b mountains are here. The EMD E7A and E7B are being done in ABS plastic. The B&O had 18 E7A units. The highrailers can have the E7B units.
From Weaver Models The wagon top box car, class M-53, in plastic, RTR, will be ready in 6 to 10 months.
From AtlasO The F3 is coming in an A-A set. These will be the dual service units. One A unit had the steam generator and a 200 gal. water tank and the other unit had a 500 gal. tank. One unit will be powered and the other a dummy, but I bet a power unit will become available. They were for passenger protect service, but were geared for freight service.
From Mullet River Glenn is doing the B&O/BR&P class I-10 caboose kit. This is a real craftsman kit. Laser cut wood superstructure and an etched brass underframe. The kit is $120.00
