OK gang! How do I get that dummy coupler out of the pilot of my BLI C-16 so I can put a funtional coupler in instead! Is it glued? It it moulded in place?

Tom, I asked the same question a few months back and got some good replies, was even directed to a web site showing how it was done. A quick fix is, build a transition car or two. A lot easier than mounting a new coupler.
By the way have you visited the narrow gauge thread in this 2R forum? Al |

Thank you Al. I tried to put this in the Narrow Gauge threads but it didn't work. I have very limited computer skills!

Tom, if this is an engine you are going to keep, you might consider a switcher type pilot instead. The D&RG used a c-16 in the Durango yards. The pilot on Bachmann C-25 is close replica. For my use, I use the C-16's for through freights and the C-25 for local freights and switching duties. If you do not have a C-25, you should be able to get on one ebay for about $150.00 or less. They are a very good running engine.

Tom, are you having any luck on the front coupler change out?

I have put both of my C-16 Next to a regular freight car. It isn't just a matter of replacing the dummy coupler with a functional coupler, the coupler pocket sit higher than the couplers on the freight cars so I am not even sure it is worth the effort!
