I picked up another long truck 652 G a 1947 that's a E-. I need a tip on removing the 6 body screws in these Bakelite cars I have had several other cars that the screws have dried in the posts and by a simple twist I have snapped several posts. I need to fix the window inserts in this car, but I'm scared of damaging the cars mounts to get at them. I see that a product called PB Blaster claims it has capalary action. Maybe a small drop will wick down and lube it before it remove them............

I would heat the screw prior to removal with a medium sized soldering iron.
Apply the heat for a bit to let it soak into the bakelite and soften the resin.

But be careful not to heat to the melting point of the chassis plastic.

When removing the screw use a very slow and even torque.

You may have to rock the screw CW and CCW when removing to clear the threads.
