That was a great layout. Another one still in operation is Bob Boards All Aboard Flyer Layout in Lancaster PA. I beleive its 24x48 feet and was featured in the "other magazine" He is also the producer of Super Smoke. It is true that Mike sold his collection off and dismantled the layout. I purchased a few things from him a few years ago. I had the great pleasure of visiting him back in the 80's and he let us run the trains!! What an awesome layout it was. One thing I particularly enjoyed was the pure Gilbert philosophy it was completed with. There was several operating "Loops". I remember one of them was a fully automated single track main with passing track turnouts for multiple trains. Of course it was all done with original Gilbert track trips and signals.
