The "Chaulk" is usually the wax released from the plastic over time(mold release agent). Take a hair dryer and warm it up the affected area, until it turns liquid, then wipe with a very soft cotton cloth to wipe off the residue. Some will use a furniture spray wax(Pledge) to bring the finish back. Spray on the model and use a VERY soft paint brush to gently get into the nooks and crannies. Let dry and you should have an awesome looking 910 tank car! Al

I know what you say is true for unpainted plastic cars, but does it go for painted cars(like the 910) too? |

HI,
That was my question as well, but I went ahead and tried. There was some of the substance on the die-cast frame, so I started there. Cleaned right up without issue thought the heat concerned me. Started on the bottom of the car, seemed to work well. Eventually, as I worked around the car, I started to see a trace of paint on my cloth so I stopped. Looks much better but could still need some attention. Any more suggestions? Thanks, Tim |
